Who was Mary Gilmore?

An entry in an old Bible owned by my ancestor John Scott states: "John Scott of Amherst Point, County of Cumberland was probabl y the first of the Scotts to settle in Nova Scotia. He is believed to have died in New York City of yellow fever in 1798. His wife is said to have been Mary Gilmore, daughter of John Gilmore by his wife Mary Stewart (or Stuart)." So, who was this elusive Mary Gilmore? Where was she from and who are her parents John Gilmore and Mary Stewart?
