Geraldine was a beautiful artist and well-known on the South Shore for winning many art award ribbons.

Interment at Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury.

Barmore, 83, of Gerry, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at WCA Hospital.She was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Gerald and Lucy Hayward. A Chautauqua County resident all of her life, she was a 1947 graduate of Jamestown High School and 1951 graduate of Deaconess School of Nursing.Alice was employed for 33 years as an registered nurse at the former Jamestown General Hospital and as a office nurse for Dr. Chelecki.She was a member of the Gerry Grange for more than 50 years, Rodeo City Senior Citizens, Gerry United Methodist Church, Cassadaga Memorial American Legion Post 1280 Auxillary and a charter member of the Rodeo City Travel Club.Alice enjoyed traveling, especially with Hitching Post Tours, playing cards and spending Sunday with her family.Wife of 62 years to Ronald E. Barmore, whom she married Oct. 6, 1951; mother of Melody Barmore of Knoxville, Tenn., Ronalee (John) Horan and Wade Barmore. all of Gerry; grandmother of Heather (Dan) Maloney, Lindsey (Bill) Fisk, Shannon (Sean) Eggleston, Ashley (Justin) Clark, Sarah and Jake Bar-more, and Ryan and Sean Horan; great-grandmother of seven; sister of the late Sally Jones and Geraldine Hayward. Born in Granville Centre, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Henrietta (Troop) Eaton. She leaves 4 sisters: Estella Eaton, Nan Eaton, Vera, Mrs Ronald, Longley, all of Canning; Leta, Mrs Robie McNince, Stoney Creek, Ontario; 1 grandchild. She was predeceased by 1 son, Murray, 3 brothers: Arnold, Judson and Burton, and 1 sister, Ethel. The funeral was Tuesday, at the Baptist Church, Canning, Reverend Ronald McCormick officiating. 1883 GOREHAM, Catherine Lois (nee Swim) - 78, Clark’s Harbour, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Roseway Regional Hospital in Shelburne, N.S. surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 6, 1933 in Clark’s Harbour, daughter of the late Cleveland "Speedy" and Ethel (Banks) Swim. Catherine had varied careers, such as teacher, Royal Bank employee, restaurant owner, and cook. She also was a long-time member of the Seabreeze Rebecca Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, Friends of the Library (CH Branch), and as the Clark’s Harbour representative on the board of Western Counties Regional Library, and she took an avid interest in the federal and the provincial Liberal Party of which she was very proud. She looked forward to cooking for and attending her Christmas Club.
She was the matriarch of her family and had many friends in her hometown and elsewhere. She was well known for her cooking which many had the pleasure to enjoy. She was an avid reader and always willing to assist in any cause to benefit her community in which she will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Milford "Miff"; daughter, Lois of Muncho Lake, B.C.; sons, Ernest (Mary) and Andrew (Kim) of Clark’s Harbour. She will be sadly missed by grandchildren Michael (Susanne), Barrington; Falyn (Aaron) Upper Woods Harbour; Joshua, Halifax; and great-grandchildren Emily, Caden, and Joshua-Philip "JP"; sister, Barbara Conrad, Clark’s Harbour, and brother Cleveland(Janice), Bedford, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Margaret(Harris) Wickens, Georgina(Mortimer) Parsons and twin daughters Joanne and Jill in infancy. Many thanks to the staff of the Yarmouth and Shelburne hospitals for the wonderful care of our mother during her illness, and to the many that visited, called and especially to the Red Hatters of Clark’s Harbour.

Grandma will be fondly remembered by Jake, Zack, Cole, Holly, Abby and Rebecca. Dear sister of Thelma, Pat, and Ron. Bernice will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at the PAUL O'CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Warden and Pharmacy) from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. The death of Mrs Blanche Williams, daughter of the late Samuel and Rachel Pickup, and widow of Reverend TL Williams took place at the home of Mr and Mrs Herbert Weatherspoon on the 30th. She was thrice married. Her first husband was Joseph Thorne. After his death she married Capt Pratt, with whom she made several ocean voyages, visiting some of the largest cities on the continent. Following the death of Capt. Pratt, she married Reverend TL Williams, a Methodist Minister and a native of England. She was in the 76th year of her age and is survived by a half-sister, Mrs AL Troop and sister-in-law, Mrs W W Pickup, both of Granville Ferry. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, Reverend RB Thomas and Dr Borden of Annapolis officiating.

The sudden death occurred of Alfred L Troop here early Monday afternoon, following a heart attack. Mr Troop was one of 2 children of Alfred Troop, Sr., and Lovica E Marshall Troop. He was born at Granville Ferry, July 18, 1858, and had lived here all his life. In 1886 he married Retta Pickup, a sister of Samuel WW Pickup, who had previously married his (Mr Troop’s) sister, Lilly LE Troop. There were no children. During his lifetime Mr Troop was interested in several business activities in the community, but his chief interest was the farm he had inherited from his father. In February, 1927 his wife died very suddenly and since that time Mr Troop has been making his home with Mrs William Amberman. The funeral will take place on Wednesday afternoon from the United Church, Reverend GT Whitman, Reverend Robert B Anderson and Reverend TE MacLennan officiating. Interment will be in Granville Beach cemetery.
