- Claude Harrington Northup, age 88 of Windsor, Hants County, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 10, 2021 at home. Born in Stanley, Hants County on October 6, 1932, he was one of eleven children of the late Roy and Esther (Ward) Northup.
Dad worked for over twenty years at Fundy Gypsum Company as a mechanic. Even though he was a mechanic by trade his passion was woodworking. There wasn’t a woodworking tool he couldn’t operate, from making hand made furniture to vintage cars and trucks. Crafting and hand painting many “Folk Art” items for family and friends.
Claude is survived by his children, Cindy, Chris (Sandra), Tom, and Andy (Cathy); grandchildren, Adam (Janna), Dylan, Nellie, (Lawrence), Meldrum; great grandchildren, Finley, Millie, Henry; step children, Joseph Caldwell, Pam (Mark) Davidson, step grandchildren, Joey, Christina, Tiffany; step great grandchildren, Parker, Everly and Jessa; brothers, Eric (Joyce), Howard (Debbie), Grant (Irene), Garnet; sisters, Marguerite (Ron Nurse), Marie (John) Cochrane; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Claude was predeceased by his wife, Ethel (September 28, 2020); son, Arnold in infancy; brothers, Harold and Irving; sisters, Geraldine and Flossie.
Arrangements are under the care of the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N2T0.
A private family burial will be held at a later date. “as per provincial guidelines, masks & proof vaccination is required”
