HARVIE (White), Lalia Isabella - 85, Kennetcook, Hants Co., passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer, on July 25, 2003, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born December 14, 1917, on Noel Road, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Linden (Barron) White. Lalia worked at different places in and around Kennetcook earlier in life then worked for Crossley's Carpet Factory, Truro, retiring when she was 65. She was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed knitting and loved spending time with her family, especially Sunday afternoons. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are daughters, Joyce (Eric) Northup, Ellershouse; Evelyn, (Donald) MacKenzie, Malagash; Marqueita (Gordon) Singer, Kennetcook; Belinda (Ronald) MacPhee, Kennetcook; Kathy (Bernard) Verge, East Gore; sons, Guy (Myrna), Kennetcook; Elmer, North Noel Road; Frankie (Dora) Mississauga, Ont.; Avery (Marie), Latties Brook; Fred (Kim), Toronto, Ont.; 33 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson; sisters, Almira Gorman, Gormanville; Edna (Rod) Johnson, New Brunswick; Hazel (Alfred) White, White Settlement; brother, Stuart "Tommy" White, Kennetcook; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clyde; grandsons, Ray and Shane; brothers, Marsden, Blois, Lawrence, and William. Visitation was held Sunday evening in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook. Funeral service 3 p.m. today in Kennetcook United Church, Kennetcook, Beth Mattinson officiating. Interment in Kennetcook United Church Cemetery, Kennetcook.
