Robert Milton "Bob" Atwell - 65, of Berwick, Kings County, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in the V.G. site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Wolfville, Kings County, he was a son of the late Norman and Mabel (Walsh) Atwell. He had been employed with and was foreman of Stress Crete in Burlington, Ontario, retiring due to injury. He later drove taxi and had to retire due to ill health. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, exercise and training on the speed bag. He kept busy with yard work and especially enjoyed being outdoors and listening to old-time country music. He is survived by his wife, Veronica (Moore) Graves; two children, Sharon Atwell (Dlor) and Jason Atwell, both of Hamilton, Ontario; five sisters, Aileen Strong, Halifax; Murna (Guy) Tracey, Kelowna, British Columbia; Hilda Krull, Margaretsville; Freda Brewster, Dartmouth; Pauline Keddy, Canning; a brother, Lenlie, Sunken Lake; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Beverley; two brothers, Burt and Walter. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors and nurses of 5A at the Dickson Building at the V.G. Site for their kindness, care and compassion. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
