- 1934-2022. On Wednesday, October 27, 2022, we lost our Dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather known to most as Bill. He was born in Bedford, Nova Scotia on February 28, 1934 to the late Thomas and Maude (Carnell) Clahane. Bill lived life to the fullest and worked as an Automotive Body Mechanic, for Mack Maritime, Trailco, and Volvo. His favorite hobby was antique cars, he was a member of the Halifax Antique Car Club and the Annapolis Valley Cruisers, and he had a passion for the restoration of his 1934 Chevrolet Deluxe plus several other cars in later years. He is survived by his wife, Juanita (Davidson) Clahane; sons, John (Sandra), Michael (Lise), Peter (Chrysa); daughter, Kim (Stephen) Harris; grandchildren, Amanda, Rebecca, Josh, Kyle, Dina, Ariana, Jennifer, Katrina and Ricky; also, six great grandchildren, as well as many nephews and nieces. Bill is also survived by his sister Sheila. Predeceased by parents, Thomas and Maude; and brothers, Thomas and Kenneth. Special thanks to the caring staff at Shannex - Orchard Court, where Bill lived for the past six years who have helped make the recent days more comfortable for the family. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kentville followed by a reception at the parish center. A family graveside service will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
