  	David Joseph Caldwell, 81, of the 500 block of Dove Drive, died Sept. 7, 1998, in a local hospital. Mr. Caldwell was a native of Roystone, Pa., and retired from the U.S. Navy after 31 years of service. After retirement, Mr. Caldwell went to work as a Longshoreman for 23 years. He was one of the first 100 members of the Local 1970 and he also helped organize the VFW Post 4809 in Chesapeake. Survivors include his wife, Olga Nuzzo Caldwell of Chesapeake; three sons, Patrick David Caldwell, William H. Walker Jr., Joseph O. Walker and his wife, Carol Ann; and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Ashley Walker. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery by Father John J. Dorgan. The family will receive friends at H.D.
