- WARD, Gerald “Jerry” Ralph, 69, Doctor’s Cove, Shelburne County, died on November 27, 2013 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born on September 12, 1944, he was the son of the late Ralph and Ruby (Brushett) Ward. He was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 20 years, including United Nations Peacekeepers doing tours in Germany, Egypt and Israel. He had a passion for his family, cars and racing. He had been a mechanic in several local garages. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Hartt); son, Kevin (Nova), Eastern Passage; daughters, Katherine (Stanley) Ellis, Cedar Lake; Karen Ward, Doctor’s Cove; grandchildren, Ralph “Alex”, Christina, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Jacob, Brooklyn; cousin, Joan Cox, Feltzen South. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by step father, Wilson “Buck” Cook . Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m. Friday and again 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Rev. Scott MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Doctor’s Cove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund or to a charity of your choice.
