Born May 20, 1933 in Riverside Corner, he was a son of the late Gordon and Julia (Green) Ward. Russell was a very caring, devoted, and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather. He made a living with his own logging company as well as farming. Russell enjoyed horse racing, playing baseball in his younger years, hunting and going to the camp and washer tossing. He also enjoyed sitting with friends and playing cards. He will be greatly missed but always remembered by family and friends.
He is survived by children Sandra Comeau, Stephen (Karen), Gale Burgess (Larry) and Dale; grandchildren Shyla, Melissa (John), Jossie (Cody), Justin and Kayla; and great- grandchild Kaden. His brothers and sisters Shirley Cox (Lorne), Joyce Cunningham, both of Truro; Minnie Barron, Halifax; Elmore (Joyce), Kelowna, B.C.; Dollie Moore, Mary Moore (Gordie), both of Truro; and Rae (Len) Boyd, Port Perry, Ontario.
Russell was predeceased by his wife Marilyn (Miller).
