LOWE…… Kathleen Marie Lowe, age 91, of South Rawdon, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, surrounded by her family. Born on April 11, 1925, in Wentworth Creek, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Hannah (Seary) Ward. Kathleen was a lifelong homemaker, and was known for her baking abilities. She was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was known as Nanny Lowe, by people and children in her community. She was a devoted parishioner of the Rawdon Hills United Church where she will be sadly missed. One of her biggest triumphs was raising her 12 children. Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Gail (Sidney) Aker; Marilyn (Wayne) Haley; Carolyn (Wayne) Weir; Susan (Vernon) Leighton; Cathy (Mark) Church; Jackie (James) Wile; sons, James (Beverly) Young, Perry (Michelle) Lowe, Bobby (Sharon) Lowe, Jerry Lowe (Pam); Terry Lowe (Sherri); stepson, Gerald (Rose) Wright; brother, Bill (Leona) Ward; half-sister, Jessie (Oscar) Langdon; 26 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a special great granddaughter, Gracie Kathleen Aubrey. She enjoyed Gracie doing her nails and having tea parties; many nieces and nephews; close friends, Helen Campbell and Edna Goodall for all they have done over the years. Special thanks to all the Homecare and VON staff that really brightened up her days, also to Dr. Cathryn Smith and the Dykeland Lodge, for their care of Kathleen. her parents, Joseph and Hannah (Seary) Ward; Kathleen was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Aubrey Avon "Bob" Lowe; her first husband, William "Bill" Young; son, Owen Hudson Young; her twin sister, Madeline Murphy; also sisters, Geraldine Brooks; Josephine Hatt; Edith Haley; Dorothy Elliott and Annie DellaTorre; brothers, Carmen, Cecil, Carl, Earl "Pat", George, Roy and Claude Ward; Kathleen was also predeceased by her canine friend, her cat Babes. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm Friday, June 17, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, PO Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, June 18, 2016, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ian MacDonald officiating, followed by a reception at the funeral home. A private family interment will be in the South Rawdon United Cemetery, South Rawdon.
