- RAFUSE, Michael Francis "Mike" - 49, Windsor, passed away very suddenly, Sunday, November
5, 2000, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born September 29, 1951, in Windsor, he was a son of the late Harold "Pick" Lawrence Rafuse.
Mike had a great love for Country Music and played in several bands over the years. He was
always humming and singing around the house and also had a song for his friends. Mike's other passions in his life were his wife, children and grandchildren who were the apple of his eye, his mother, brothers, all his friends and his best friend "Farrah" Mike worked several jobs during his life, driving ambulance for McCarthy's and later Arsenault's Ambulance. He was co-owner of Rafuse Taxi and Restaurant. As assistant manager, Mike was a professionalist at his job at Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, helping many friends who were his family away from home. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed boxing, hockey (Toronto Maple Leafs), baseball and in his earlier years he played minor and junior hockey, winning Nova Scotia Championships at the age of 14. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Valerie Leta "Doll" Barker; daughters, Tabitha Michelle, Mrs. Louis Harnish, Mount Denson; Leslie Dawn, Mrs. Richie Hamilton, Petawawa, Ont.; sons, Trevor Michael (Stacey), Windsor; Kevin Robert (Natasha), Windsor; Trevor Mitchell Barker (Melodie), Windsor; grandchildren, Aaron, Connor, Brianna, Nicholas, Kyle, Alex, Jeremy,
Tyus and Trey; brothers, John (Sheila), Windsor; Kenny (Pat), Moncton, N.B.; Brian (Irene),
Gander, Nfld.; Tom (Daphne), Gander, Nfld.; half-sister, Joan (Mrs. Wilfred Hawksworth, Hythe, Alta. Mike was predeceased by his brother, Darrell Edwin Rafuse. Visitations 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 9, in Christ Anglican Church, King St., Rev. David Curry and Rev. E.E. Hill are officiating, with interment in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.
