  The 1881 Census shows 28 year old Alex Dalrymple, Dwelling: High Street, Townhill, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. Occupation, Coal miner. 1901 census living with daughters Maggie and Elsie, but his wife is not included for some reason although she would still be alive. Kingseathill: A locality in Dunfermline Parish, west Fife, Kingseathill is situated between Dunfermline and Townhill. In later years he and Elspeth ran the Wee Sweety Shop on High Street.
