WARD Charles Robert (Bob), born in Windsor, Nova Scotia, March 26, 1937, died peacefully in his sleep on April 29, 2004, after a brief fight with Cancer, at the age of 67 years. He was a Marine Consultant and Ship Manager, and a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada and the Royal Naval Engineering College, Plymouth England. Son of the late Charles and Dorothy Ward of Bedford NS. He will be missed by his children, Geoffrey Ward and Cathy Djukastein of Sidney, BC, Karen Upshaw, Mission, BC, and their spouses, his 8 grandchildren, Kevan, Graham, Sean, Trevor, Kirsty, Desiree, Sara and Christopher. Also survived by his former wife Jennifer Ward of Sidney and brother Russell Ward of Digby, NS., and many close companions and friends. He was well known for his "colourful" comments on BC Politics and his opinions, although not always popular, on the BC Fast Ferry Fiasco. For those who followed his frequent letters to the editor, he was aka "Richard Haliburton" - always determined to get his view across! A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 3rd, at 1:00 p.m. at Theo's Banquet Hall, 5th St, Sidney, BC.
