- OBITUARY:
Cochrane, Gerald Edward - 88, Sweet's Corner, Hants County, died August 2, 1994, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Sweet's Corner, he was a son of the late John and Etta (Bowden) Cochrane. He retired in 1970 after working with Fundy Gypsum Co. for over 45 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of New Westminster United Church, Sweet's Corner.
He is survived by four daughters, Shelia (Mrs. Harold Weatherbed), Falmouth; Mae (Mrs. Carl Atwell), Martock; Maxine (Mrs. Harry Watson), Walton; Donna (Mrs. Richard Smith), Darling Lake, Yarmouth County; two sons, Gerald (Eric), Brooklyn, Hants County; John, Gypsum Mines; four step-daughters, Muriel (Mrs. James (Jim) Cross), Three Mile Plains; Betty (Mrs. Art Williams), Windsor Forks; Lorna (Mrs. Chris Jones), Windsor; Margaret (Mrs. Doug Raney), Dartmouth; stepson, Ernest (Ernie) Caldwell, Lower Sackville; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; brother, Gordon (Tex), Fredericton, N.B. He was predeceased by his third wife, the former Ida Maude
Swinnamer; second wife, Ethel Reading; first wife, the former Grace Ellis; daughter, Audrey in infancy; four sisters, Etta Ross, Emma Gould, Gertrude Deal, Kathleen Houghton; four brothers, Bertram, Carl, Aubrey, his twin Earl; great granddaughter, Susan. Burial will be in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix.
