- Obituary in the Sarnia Observer, August 17, 2000:At his home on Wednesday, August 16, 2000 RICHARD SIDNEY WARD, age 60 of Sarnia. Mr Ward was a member of the Asbestos Workers Local 95 and a member of Greenwood Golf Course. Loving husband of Val (Sauve) (Kingdon) (Pettit) Ward. Step-dad of Kim and Shawn Kingdon. Grandfather of Hailey. Son-in-law of Marjorie and Jack Fergusson. Brother-in-law of Brian and Pam Waring, Jeff and Nancy Brown, Kevin and Jo-Anne McAlpine. Uncle of Amy and Brett Waring, Corey, Jeremy and Sarah Brown, Kara, Katie, Kassy and Kipp McAlpine. Predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Christina Ward. Friends will be received at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Thursday, August 17, 2000 from 7 to 9 p.m. only. There will be no funeral service at the funeral home. Cremation will take place. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Lambton Lung Association. Friends are invited back to 937 Assiniboine Cres. after the visitation on Thursday evening.
