- Warde, George ; of Hurworth on Teise. Inquisition post mortum. taken 17 March [1607-8] at Durham. John Ward, aged 50, is his son and next heir. By deed dated 16 June 1579 he had settled his lands (in accordance with a covenant for the marriage of his said son John with Johanna daughter of Henry Charnley) to his own use for life, remainder to the use of his said son and his heirs males by his said wife, remainder to his own right heirs.
