Notes - 1349, September 16. — Sir Simon Warde presented John de Hawksworth, clerk, to the Rectory of Guiseley, on the death of John Warde. More than one half of the parish priests in Yorkshire are said to have perished by the Black Death in 1349; John Warde was probably one of the victims.
