- Christian Messenger, Halifax, Nova Scotia-November 17, 1848Letter to the Editors from Westport-dated October 31, 1848"Death is doing his work amoungst us. Four have died since last Saturday--three on Long Island and one at this place. Please announce in C.M. the death of Mrs. Lewis Titius, who departed this life on Monday, the 30th Oct., aged 67 years. Mrs. T. for upwards of 40 years had been a consistent member of the Baptist church. Her end was peaceful and happy. Her husband and a large family of children are left to mourn their loss."
