- It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Robert Wayne Cann on Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.Born in Sydney, he was the son of Lillian (Ward) Cann, Sydney and the late Seward Cann.For 22 years, Wayne was employed with Mason's Wholesale and before retirement, drove transport trucks for Midland, Global and Hillmans. He was an avid tarabish player, lover of antique cars and a loyal friend. He will be missed.Surviving are his wife, Louise (Lund); daughter, Susan (Lee) Carrigan; two grandchildren, Kyle and Nickolas. He is also survived by his sister, Judith Grant; niece, Melissa Grant (Ken LeBlanc); nephew, Ryan Grant.Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday 1-3 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel, with Pastor Kevin Richardson officiating. Interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
