- His will reads:Lisdillon, 15th February, 1880The last will and testament of James Lowther Senior of Lisdillon. I James Lowther of Lisdillon being of delicate health but sound in mind and Indeq_____ment do make this my last will and Testament. That is to say I will and bequeath to William Lowther of Lisdillon, my son all my farm and land in Lisdillon with all stock of Cattle of all kinds with all crop and farming implement with all and every other property of any kind whatsoever I may die possessed of. I will and bequeath to Matilda Mary Lowther my daughter one hundred pounds sterling to be paid by William Lowther out of my farm and other property to be paid in one full sum in case he William Lowther gets married. If he remains unmarried he shall pay the above sum of one hundred pounds sterling in sums of twenty pounds yearly until the one hundred pounds shall be paid in full. I will and bequeath to James Lowther Junior to John Lowther Lizzie Lowther otherwise Foster and Jane Lowther otherwise MacFarland each and every of these the sum of one shilling sterling to be paid at my decease.
