- Chronicle Herald - Thursday, 26 April 1984 - Page 55 - Major Emmerson Ward - Brooklyn - Major Emmerson Ward, 65, of Brooklyn, Hants County, died Tuesdayin Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville. Born in Brooklyn, he was ason of Mrs. Elvie (Robinson) Ward and the late James Ward. He owned andoperated Ward's Irving Station, Brooklyn, for over 20 years, retiring in1966. He served overseas with the RCOC during the Second World War and was amember of Royal Canadian Legion, Hants County Branch #9, Windsor. Besideshis mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Vera Ayears; two sons,Stephen, Medicine Hat, Alta. and James, Brooklyn, a sister, Phylis (Mrs.Bruce McKenzie), Lakelands, and a brother Charles, Lower Sackville. Memorialservice will be 2 p.m. Friday in R.D. Lindsay Funeral Home, Windsor, Rev.E.E. Hill and Rev. John Roddam officiating, with burial at a later date.
