Notes - On the Kirkby-Ravensworth birth register, it says: "Margaret the daughter of Simond Ward of Woodclose bapt. March ___"As I was looking at an old map of the area I spotted "Woodclose Gill". I wonder if someone would give their abode as the body of water they lived on? Or was there a farmhouse called Woodclose?This is very close to Gayles (near Ravensworth) where there were many Wards.
