- Living in March, 1901 with daughter, Mary McGinty (spelled McGinti in the census) and her husband John who was an innkeeper in the 1881 census.No death records in archives before 1908 so in May 2009 I went to St Jerome's cemetery in West Caledonia and found the headstone, but it was difficult to read. Pretty sure it was Nov 28, 1901. Inscription reads"Sacred to the Memory ofEdward LowtherDied Nov 23 1901aged 88 yrs (although this looks to be in error... should be 91)Rest in PeaceMy cousin Don Lowther says he has seen a death notice for Edward dated 1901.
