- Lived at Caldwell House, 1714 Robie Street, built in the 1840s by David Calder his son-in-law. Designed by Halifax architect Henry Hill. Greek revival style, the home has a false window with black painted panes that lead to or are the cause of ghost stories being associated with the house. In addition to the Greek revival style Scottish five-sided dormers were part of the design as well as fluted Doric Columns a wide veranda and many unusual interior features. A suspended oval staircase, second floor curved doors at the north and south end of the oval hall. Four original fireplaces, oval sky-light, and many hand-carved rosettes on door and window frames.
